THE EDITORS

Aaron Cheang

Born in Singapore and currently a student at SOTA, Aaron figured he found his calling to be a theatre practitioner when he joined the school all those years ago (it wasn’t that long ago). Performing and watching theatre has helped him obtain a special and a more expressive way to look at everyday life. Theatre reviews are important to him, because he feels that it is one very good way for exposure and understanding of the local arts industry.

How I feel about theatre reviews: nice

Shaan Sipahimalani

Shaan's passion for theatre and dramaturgy took off in the midst of his highly intensive and rigorous training experience at School of the Arts, Singapore. Having been exposed to the dynamic possibilities open to him in the field of theatre, his zest for promoting and advocating dramaturgy is a testament to his artistic inclination and disposition. He aims to advocate an academically stimulating branch of theatre, and hopes that this notion will soon be actualised through the promising and upcoming developments with The Review Room in the near future.

Casidhe Ng

Currently 17 and studying at the School of the Arts, Singapore, it became clear to Casidhe that he had no interest in maths or science as a profession, and he decided to dabble in the arts instead. He believes theatre reviews and constructive criticism are/is the best motivator for artistic progression and improvement, and is glad to be able to review and edit under such a platform as The Review Room.

Chaney Chia

Chaney is currently a year 6 student at School Of The Arts Singapore (SOTA) and is undertaking the IBCC programme. He is interested in both acting and stage design. He feels that theatre reviews are a good way for an individual to analyze and appreciate theatre performances on a deeper level as it requires one to observe and understand the performance as a whole, focusing on all elements of a performance, such as script, direction, acting etc.
